Ads That Watch You


In advertising you usually look at the ads, but soon they'll be looking at you. A billboard see's you, scans your face, then pulls up an ad you'll like. It determines your age, your sex, and how interested you are which is then recorded to the company. The age thing is accurate to within 10 years of your age. The next version they are producing will be more accurate. It's by the company NEC and so far it has only been physically show and tested in Japan. Signs warn that you will be on camera and images are not saved to the Data base. People say within two to three years ten percent of digital signage will be like this. It should become local around this Spring..or in a few weeks or something...but who really knows.
